Jeana's Baptism

Since we don't live very close to family, we kept suggesting it would be fun to baptize Jeana in Canada so her grandparents could be there since Grandpa is serving as a mission president. Jeana loved the idea from day one and we weren't sure with David trying to finish up his Ph.D. if it would work, then my little sister's wedding also through a loop into things, but all worked out and what a fun trip and a memorable baptism it was for us all. Hopefully it was a special day and a special trip Jeana will always remember!

Initially we talked about Jeana getting baptized in the ocean, but as time got closer we could tell she was anxious about the idea, so instead we opted for the church building.

Before...

After...and as cute as ever! Snuggled up in a baptism towel her other Grandma embroidered for her special day.

We could not have had sweeter hosts either. Everyone on the island seemed to have grown attached to Jeana's grandparents and went above and beyond to cater to us all. Jeana wasn't sure if anyone else would come to her baptism besides us, but several families from the local branch showed up and were all so friendly. Then, a few locals also brought in some fresh catch from the day, fixed and served us an incredible lunch! I still don't have a stomach for eating lobster and crab, but it was so fun and amazingly generous! It was fun to visit with them all, learn how to eat a lobster whole, and a few fun facts about the island and cuisine!

Here are some of the guests/hosts who spent their day filling a font, setting up chairs and cooking so all we had to do was show up...I don't think we could ever thank you all enough!

Congrats Jeana... we are so proud of you and the good choices you always make!
