A few days ago, David decided to get rid of one of the biggest trees in our yard.  It took up a lot of space, was crooked, and had a million leaves.  I was a little nervous b/c it was a heavy Sycamore.  We even tried to cut at an angle, tie up the tree and aim away from our swing set and the new grass seed.  Needless to say, it was heavy and found its own path...right on top of our new grass seed and swing set, however, the swing set won the battle and our house survived and that makes 9 trees down and probably 5 more to go.  But every project makes our yard feel bigger and better!

Abby's Fieldtrip

It is the end of the school year and Abby's class got to go visit a local farm.  They saw strawberries and plants, turkeys, chickens, donkeys, turtles, goats, rabbits, ducks, cows and my favorite horses.  I asked Jeana if she wanted to take horseback riding lessons and she said yes.  She said she wants to have a horse, but I told her we don't have enough room at our house.  So she said, "Mom, I have a good idea, how about we could get a pony because they aren't as big and then, when I am not at my horse lessons I could practice on my pony."

Sports of all Sorts

This has been a year full of sports and can I just say I am SO ready for summer?!

This year David and I ran a race together and joined a soccer league with an over 25 cut off, so luckily we were all out of shape and didn't really matter that 1/2 the team had never played.  We had a good time and set up a blanket for the six to nine kids that came with moms and dads and since they ran around and colored in books and we rotated out to watch kids, we were deemed the day care team.  Dad also helped coach Jeana's basketball and T-ball.

Jeana did basketball, dance, swimming lessons and T-ball this year.  However, she told her T-ball coach, that was her favorite.  And I guess the 1 1/2 hr. long practices have paid off b/c the other day at a birthday party a parent commented that Jeana was the only one who could swing the stick hard for the pinata.  So either she's had good practice or it could just be she was two years older than the rest :)

Abby played soccer, but not much to her liking, though she thought the trophy was awesome.  She also did dance and swimming lessons and in the mean time knows how to keep Mom on her toes!

this is why I haven't updated anyone in a long time.  I thought with a new computer, I would be able to stay caught up, but I didn't take into consideration two little girls.  Their favorite thing to do is take silly picture of themselves.

We had fun with Nathan and Melinda and family.  They came down for Memorial day weekend and we all headed to an annual church picnic.

It doesn't seem like that long ago, but now instead of a six month old, we have a six year old on our hands!

Jeana wanted a Karaoke party for her birthday and since her friends are still learning to read, we used Barbie Island Princess DVD b/c at the end there is a karaoke game and the girls all have the songs memorized so, thanks to the Dollar store, we had a karaoke Luau.
The boys got hats instead of skirts, though they weren't fans of the singing and dancing.  Jake is moving out west with his family and Jeana has always really liked him and we are sad to see them go.

We did cup cakes on an island since with turtles and roses and teddy bear umbrellas.  And if you look close, the Island princess is holding a microphone :)

There were five birthdays we actually celebrated and we had hawaiian burgers and tropical fruit to fit the theme.
Jeana and Abby loved her new DS that she got from Grandma and Grandpa for her birthday.  She claimed for months that she wanted a DS "more than anything in the whole world." Nathan and Melinda came down for the weekend too and I think we played the kids DS's more than them.  :)
